Augsburg had two goals ruled out before a late effort from Fredrik Jensen secured them a 1-0 win against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
Clearly the better side on the pitch, Augsburg were not initially lucky when finding the net.
Arne Engels‘ strike in the eighth minute was disallowed due to a handball in the build-up, while Ermedin Demirovic‘s effort was later ruled out because of a foul on Kevin Vogt.
But Augsburg’s hard work was rewarded when Fredrik Jensen got the ball into the goal in the 88th minute.
Vogt, who was hit in the face by Kelvin Yeboah and needed medical treatment after the second disallowed goal, was hoping to return to the game but coach Pellegrino Matarazzo decided to sub him off in view of a possible head injury.
The defender, however, was not happy with the decision and was caught by the cameras on the sidelines angrily removing his jersey and throwing it on the floor.
Both teams are fighting relegation but Augsburg have the advantage as they sit 13th with 24 points, while Hoffenheim are 14th with 19 points.
