Casemiro got the second straight red of his career
Casemiro received his second red card of the season as he was sent off for a nasty challenge against Southampton on Sunday.
The Manchester United man lunged out and caught Carlos Alcaraz with his studs. After a check with the VAR monitor, he was given his marching orders.
The Brazilian was sent off for the second time this season, meaning he now misses United’s next four games.
Those domestic matches will be Fulham, Newcastle, Brentford and Everton.
Before this season, Casemiro had never received a straight red card in his club career.
He has now received 2 in his last 3 Premier League appearances.
His first came against Crystal Palace on February 4 when he put his hands around the Will Hughes’ throat.
Luckily for him, the three games he was banned for ended just in time for him to play in the Carabao Cup final.
His second red was seemingly justified following the shocking replays.
Casemiro was in tears the decision by the referee and also apologised to Alcaraz for his challenge before heading down the tunnel.
