According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have reportedly approached Brighton and Hove Albion for the services of Moises Caicedo as the hunt for a new midfielder continues.
The Ecuadorian has been linked with several big-name clubs after an amazing start to life in England. He’s fast, strong, good at pressing and dribbling, and looks like he’ll be a perfect addition to Jurgen Klopp’s gegenpress system as people have likened his playstyle to N’Golo Kante.
Brighton have already lost key figures this season with the likes of Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma and Graham Potter all exiting the club. This suggests that Brighton will try and hold on to his services until at least the end of the season.
Before the transfer window ended, reports suggested that Liverpool were interested in putting a £42m bid for the youngster. Graham Potter laughed it off, however, suggesting that would only be enough to sign his boots.
Since Graham Potter’s departure to Chelsea, it looks like the London club could have first dibs on the player. The already existing relationship between player and manager could be a huge selling point to Caicedo who will be set for a big money move soon.
