Brentford striker Ivan Toney
Kevin Campbell has said on the Highbury Squad Youtube channel that Brentford striker Ivan Toney would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal following the injury to Gabriel Jesus.
The former Arsenal striker believes that if the Gunners are able to bring in Toney from Premier League rivals Brentford in the middle of the season, then it would be a very good move.
Jesus is the number one striker for Arsenal, but the former Manchester City star has suffered an injury with Brazil at the ongoing 2022 Qatar World Cup.
There is speculation that the Brazil international striker will be out of action for three months.
KEVIN CAMPBELL WOULD LOVE BRENTFORD STRIKER IVAN TONEY AT ARSENAL
Campbell said: “Someone just put in there (chatbox), Ivan Toney. If you could make that happen, that would be a very good signing because somebody could hold it up, and that has been our problem.”
OULD A TRANSFER HAPPEN IN JANUARY?
In our view, Arsenal are unlikely to be able to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old English striker is a key player for Brentford, who are doing well in the Premier League at the moment and are unlikely to sell any of their best players in the middle of the season.
Now, of course, we know that money talks, but Brentford are a Premier League club who could end up in the top 10 and could kick on.
There are also off-pitch issues that may prevent Arsenal from making a move.
We do not think that a move will happen regarding Arsenal and Toney in the January transfer window.
