Weghorst isn’t expected to stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer

Manchester United sit just five points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table after a 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford continued his rich goal scoring run with another two goals at Old Trafford, before substitute Jadon Sancho added United’s third late on.

Wout Weghorst once again lead the line for Erik ten Hag’s side, taking his tally of consecutive starts to ten games.

Despite the Netherlands international seemingly becoming The Red Devils’ first choice striker, it appears that United may snub the chance to keep Weghorst at the club beyond this summer.

The striker is currently on loan at Old Trafford from Championship leaders Burnley, but United are unlikely to make his stint with the club a permanent one, according to Football Insider.

The Dutchman joined United last month following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford in November.

Weghorst joined on a six-month loan deal, with United having to pay a reported £2.5 million to buy the player out of his previous loan deal with Turkish side Besiktas.
