Long-term West Ham target Moussa Dembele allegedly could be Aston Villa bound in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Foot Mercato who claim that the Hammers have made an enquiry for the 26-year-old striker, but now Aston Villa are at the front of the queue for his signature.
The French publication suggest that he will most likely leave Lyon on a free transfer in the summer, but who knows…perhaps the Ligue 1 outfit will be willing to sell him for a bargain fee this month.
West Ham boss David Moyes has been linked with a move to sign the French hitman over the past couple of years (The Sun).
However, he reportedly rejected a move to the London Stadium in the summer.
And now it seems as though he could finally be set to move back to Britain, although the London Stadium apparently won’t be his destination…
Moussa Dembele could be Aston Villa bound
Foot Mercato reckon that the French hitman could be heading to Villa Park soon. That comes after the Hammers allegedly made an enquiry for him.
Unai Emery clearly wants to bring in another striker, having sold Danny Ings to West Ham, ironically.
Dembele has bagged 69 goals in 159 games for Lyon and he has 151 goals in 340 career games to his name – a really impressive tally (Transfermarkt).
He is an experienced striker who certainly knows where the back of the net is. The famous ‘winking’ incident aside, I would have actually liked the forward at West Ham.
It seems as though that won’t be happening though.
Moussa Dembele may well be Aston Villa bound. And it will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Premier League, if he does indeed swap France for England.
