Heading into tomorrow’s El Clasico against Real Madrid, Barcelona are dealing with several injury issues. Three key players in Pedri, Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski have all been ruled out of the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu.

And recently, it emerged that Andreas Christensen was also a doubt for the contest after he picked up a knock on his ankle during training earlier today.

Everything will depend on how the defender will feel tomorrow morning, based on which a call on his involvement will likely be made. Christensen, though, is understood to be keen on playing the game.

To that end, Catalunya Radio is reporting that the 26-year-old centre-half is willing to take sedatives so that he can participate in the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Given the importance of the clash and the fact that Barça are coming into the game on the back of two consecutive defeats, it is understandable that the Danish international is motivated to play at the Bernabeu and could do so by taking pain-killer injections.

Christensen has been one of Barcelona’s steadiest performers this season and has silently gone about his business to become a permanent fixture in Xavi’s plans.
