Real Madrid and Fly Emirates extend partnership until 2026 with €70m-a-year deal
Most football clubs around the world shuffle their chief sponsor fairly regularly, chasing after the most economically lucrative offer. However, Real Madrid are one of the few clubs to have persisted with their sponsor for close to a decade.
Fly Emirates’ deal with Los Blancos dates back close to a decade and in 2017, the two parties announced an extension of their part year for a further five years. The deal is set to expire in the coming summer, and no talks over another extension were reported so far.
According to reports from Lucasz Baczek, Real Madrid have agreed on a renewal with Fly Emirates for another three years. The deal will run until the 2025-26 season and will see the club receive €70 million per year.
Under the agreement, the club may receive additional bonuses of close to €7 million for successes on the pitch.
The Emirates logo has been front and centre of Real Madrid’s jersey from the 2013-14 season when the airlines paid €27 million plus bonuses. Close to ten years later, that figure has tripled and is now the largest shirt sponsorship in Europe.
An official announcement regarding the same can be expected in the coming days once the papers are signed. Nevertheless, the renewal comes as great news for Los Blancos’ faithful for the airline logo has arguably become a homely part of the team’s jersey over the years.
Real Madrid will return to action after the international break when they take on Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu.
