Barcelona are set to take on Atletico Madrid in La Liga this weekend in what can prove to be a very crucial clash in the title race. Xavi’s men sit atop the Spanish league table but are level on points with Real Madrid.
Barcelona will be hoping to bounce back from their 1-1 draw against Espanyol and find a way to get past Atletico. The derby was a game marred by controversy but Xavi’s men have no excuses for not being clinical.
Atletico Madrid on the other hand are fourth in the La Liga table with 27 points, 11 behind the league leaders. They already look out of the title race but would garner some hope should they beat Barcelona on Sunday.
Diego Simeone’s side are coming off a rather impressive 2-0 win over Elche. Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata scored for the Spanish club with former Barça player Griezmann providing the assist for both goals.
Barcelona have some huge misses for the game against Atletico. Robert Lewandowski is out due to a three-match suspension whilst Jordi Alba will also miss the game due to a red card that he got last time around.
