Steve Cooper has been handed an injury blow to goalkeeper Dean Henderson, with the Manchester United loanee set to be out for four to five weeks.
City Ground chiefs appear to be on the hunt for a new shot-stopper this month as a result of Henderson’s injury, with links to Dinamo Zagreb’s Dominik Livakovic. It looks as if Navas is also of interest to the Reds, with a transfer update emerging on Friday.
THE LATEST: FOREST PUSHING
French outlet Le 10 Sport shared what they know about Navas, saying there is a ‘big press’ by Forest.
The club are trying to convince Navas to move to England, however, the Costa Rica international is also of interest to Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Nassr.
THE VERDICT: SHORT-TERM FIX?
18 months of his PSG deal. He’d offer plenty of experience to Cooper’s side, with the ‘keeper playing more than 100 times for both Real Madrid and PSG, while also making 110 appearances for his country.
The three-time Champions League winner has only made one ap
pearance for PSG this season, playing second fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma, so you’d like to think he might be open to the idea of playing regular Premier League football during the second half of the season.
Who knows, should a move materialise, Navas could be a solid short-term fix ahead of the 2023/24 season, and it looks as if Forest are keen to get a deal over the line.
