Capello and Milan duo
AC Milan will face Napoli in the Champions League quarter-finals and while the Partenopei are the favourites, the Rossoneri still have a good chance. But it will depend a lot on a certain duo, Fabio Capello believes.
Milan, Napoli and Inter were all incredibly lucky in the draw as they all ended up on the same side of the knockout tree along with Benfica.
Speaking to Corriere Dello Sport (via SempreMilan), the legendary manager Capello was asked about the draw. He stated that Napoli are the favourites to advance to the next round, but warned the Partenopei of a certain duo.
“I thought our teams were lucky, all three of us. Inter could have done much worse. Milan and Napoli know each other, they will try to cancel each other out.”
Some say Napoli lack international experience…
“It’s true. But in fairness to Napoli, at least in the quarter-finals, they will play another Italian team. They know all about Milan. Therefore the internationality aspect doesn’t weigh much.”
Milan or Napoli?
“I think Napoli will advance. But be careful, a lot will depend on Theo and Leao’s form in mid-April. Those two can blow up any prediction, break the balance.”
