Mourinho wasn’t happy at not being on the touchline at the San Siro
Jose Mourinho shares hilarious snaps from Roma team bus as he’s banned from stadium
Jose Mourinho documented his bizarre matchday on Instagram as he was forced to watch Roma take on Inter Milan from their team bus.
The Special One had been sent off during his side’s 1-0 defeat to Atalanta before the international break, giving him a Serie A touchline ban for their trip to the San Siro on Saturday (October 1).
That made for some social media gold from Mourinho, who posted a series of stories over the course of the game. He first videoed himself watching the warm-up on TV with his feet up.
The next upload was a selfie video of him sighing at his predicament, clearly not happy that he wasn’t able to be inside the ground. Mourinho did escape the coach to get some fresh air and speak to one of his coaching staff.
But that didn’t stop his frustration as he later said: “I am going to die here.” He next shared a video of the match action and said in Italian while watching on: “Well done guys, great football.”
And thankfully there was a happy ending for the 59-year-old as Roma came from behind to secure an impressive 2-1 victory over Inter on their travels.
His final Insta story was him celebrating with the coach who had made a cameo earlier and what appeared to be the bus driver. However, his mental day didn’t stop there.
Goalscorer Paulo Dybala shared a post of his own which showed Mourinho had snuck into the away dressing room and was celebrating with his players. Never change, Jose.
Dybala levelled the score with a superb finish after Fedrico Dimarco had given the hosts the lead. And Chris Smalling headed home a winner for a valuable three points for I Giallorossi.
